The Short Story
Singer/songwriter COURTEOUS THIEF has been described as both contemporary new folk and acoustic indie pop.
Releasing the first album Symphony to widespread acclaim in 2011 saw Courteous Thief being championed By BBC Radio Wales with past singles achieving the coveted BBC Radio Wales Single Of The Week accolade as well as live sessions and interviews.
Singles from the second album “Beyond These Walls” released in July 2016 also reached the same heights as previous releases, with the track “Once Burnt” also featuring on the BBC Introducing in Wales with Bethan Elfyn.
A regular on the live circuit has seen Courteous Thief supporting bands and artists such as Turin Brakes, Chris Helm, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Mark Morris (The Bluetones) and Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets) as well as festival appearances with performances at some of the UK's top festivals including Glass Butter Beach Festival, Festival No 6, Gorjys Secrets Festival and Electric Wave.
The release of “Rest My Bones” from the Tribal ep in late 2016 has seen him gain national and international airplay across Europe with the tittle track from the “Tribal” ep recently making it to the semi-finals of the International Song Writing Competition.
New Single “Leather Soles”, released on the 17th of February 2018 recently gained airplay on the BBC Introducing In Wales and will form part of a new EP due out Spring/summer 2018. (Nessi Hault, Carpe Carmina)
